Christchurch Launch Soft Plastics Recycling

Canterbury is the latest region to get new soft plastic recycling programme in its supermarkets. There are 50 drop off stations where it's hoped 75 tonnes of waste will be saved from going to the landfill. Hamilton Supermarkets get involved in recycling iniative

Hamilton City Council became the first council in New Zealand to officially support the Love NZ Soft Plastic Recycling Programme.

A seat made from 15,000 plastic bags was donated to the students from Peachgrove Intermediate School on Monday March 21.

The seat was unveiled at the Hamilton launch of the new Soft Plastics Recycling Programme at Countdown Claudelands.

Minister for the Environment Dr Nick Smith launched the new soft plastics recycling programme at New World, Mount Roskill. Take a look at the video to see what you can now recycle and where.

Remember the key message is Collect (your soft plastic packaging); Drop (at participating stores) and Recycle. It’s as easy as that...and according to a TV3 Breakfast poll 78% people say they will recycle their soft plastic.
