Port Chalmers Seafood Festival

The Seafood Festival is held in Port Chalmers, a short drive from Dunedin City on the Otago Coast. First held in 2011 during the Rugby World Cup and attracting between 6000 and 7000 people, it has now become a biennial event for locals and tourists.

Working with Love NZ and the Glass Packaging Forum’s Public Place Recycling Scheme, Dunedin City Council and the Seafood Festival event organisers, agreed to make the second Festival held in October 2013 a case study for introducing recycling at an existing event.
