You have landed on our store locator page for recycling soft plastic. The Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme has restarted collections at selected retail stores in Auckland, Waiheke Island, Hamilton and Wellington. The Soft Plastic Recycling bins are available for use at a number of Countdown, The Warehouse, and Huckleberry stores.
When we suspended the service late last year, we said that we needed to re-shape the model to match how much we collect, with New Zealand’s capacity to process soft plastic materials. This is why we are re-starting the service at a reduced number of stores in Auckland and Hamilton, where the processors are also closely located.
We are planning to add drop off points in new regions over the next few months.
Thank you for being such loyal supporters of soft plastic recycling. We hope you understand that we need to take a phased approach to re-introducing the service.
