Global Recycling Day on March 18
Global Recycling Day on March 18 highlights the importance of recycling waste materials that would otherwise go to landfill; and sharing tips on how we, as a community, can recycle more.
New Zealanders are doing some great work recycling soft plastic. Last year we recycled 892 tonnes of soft plastic through the Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme, which equates to 137 million plastic bags or wrappers. Recycled soft plastics were turned into new fence posts, bollards and sustainable building materials, right here in New Zealand.
